Mil-tek Launches EN16500 Range in New Zealand

Monday, 4 June 2018

Mil-tek's updated range of vertical balers hits the New Zealand market with industry-leading safety features to enhance an unparalleled safety record.

EN16500 balers are now available in New Zealand. The new baler range has launched with a host of additional safety and performance enhancements.

The primary reason behind the change is the introduction in Europe of a new safety standard for vertical balers.

Even thought MIl-tek has an unparalleled safety record, we have updated our global range of machines in compliance this new standard.

What is EN16500?

EN16500 is the new safety standard for vertical balers. It was introduced in Europe in 2015 alongside other standards for horizontal balers and large-scale compactors.

The standard was built around the premise of protecting user safety through all aspects of baler operation from loading and pressing to releasing and bale-out.

We've created a whole page with information about the standards and what it means for our machines, which you can view here: EN16500.

EN16500 Features:

A range of safety and performance related changes have been made to the machines including preventing access to moving parts (by the user or a 2nd party), adding a lock-out switch to kill power (in the case of Mil-tek balers this cuts the source of compressed air).

For more detailed information on this, visit the EN16500 page or contact Mil-tek.
